Enforcing an association between a Rational ClearCase activity and a work item

With Rational® ClearTeam Explorer 8.0.0.2, you can enforce the association of a Rational ClearCase® activity with a work item, while you check out, check in, and add a file to source control.

About this task

The Rational ClearTeam Explorer dialog panels allows you to select a work item to work with, instead of a UCM activity, and it will create a UCM activity that corresponds to the selected work item and associate it for you.
You can choose work items in various contexts that require a UCM activity when performing these tasks:
  • Checking out a file
  • Checking in a file
  • Adding files to source control
  • Choosing an activity in the UCM Activity toolbar

The ClearCase Bridge creates a corresponding UCM Activity for the selected work item and associates it, so you can ensure all of your work on UCM activities are traceable from IBM® Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) work items.
