Updating the ClearCase Bridge after server rename: Production scenarios

If you rename the Jazz® Team Server that the ClearCase Bridge connects to, you might need to update the links from element versions to IBM® Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) tasks. These instructions apply to moving a pilot deployment to production and moving an existing production deployment.

About this task

Follow these steps to ensure that element-version links to EWM tasks refer to the new location of the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) server.

Procedure

  1. Update the EWM task links. For detailed instructions, see Updating RTC task links after a server rename operation in the IBM Rational® ClearCase® product documentation.
  2. Use the clmutil command to replace existing URIs with new URIs, preview changes to URIs without making changes, and list work items that are attached to URIs. For details, see the clmutil topic in the Rational ClearCase product documentation.
  3. Verify that the associated work item can be opened from UCM activities or base Rational ClearCase versions in the Rational ClearTeam Explorer for IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) client.
  4. If the VOB schema is 80 and the feature level is 7 or higher, verify that the work item URL is updated for the associated base Rational ClearCase versions by using the cleartool describe command.
