Planning to install on IBM i systems

When you install Jazz® Team Server and the other IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) products on an IBM i system, you must complete a few steps in addition to the general deployment and installation tasks.

Installing on IBM i systems has several significant differences from installing on other systems:
  • IBM Installation Manager is not applicable to installations on IBM i systems.
  • Installations on IBM i systems are handled by a licensed program.
  • On IBM i systems, Jazz Team Server and the other ELM applications use configuration directories that are separate from installation directories.
To install components on an IBM i system, complete the following tasks:
  1. Installing Jazz Team Server and the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management applications on IBM i systems.
  2. Optional: Installing the Build System Toolkit on IBM i systems.
  3. Optional: Installing and running the Rational Build Agent on IBM i systems.
