Lesson 1: Create a provider project area

In this lesson, you create a project area that is based on the Formal Process Management process. You then make the project area process shareable so that other project areas can consume this project area process. A project area that shares its process is known as a provider project area.

Before you begin

Before you begin this lesson, you must be able to log on as a user who has JazzAdmins repository permissions and the IBM® Engineering Workflow Management Developer client access license.

About this task

This new project area will serve as the master project area for your department. By having all other project areas consume the process of the master project area, you can ensure that all of the project areas in your department follow the same process. When you want to modify the process, modify it in the master project area only. The change will be applied to all of the consuming project areas.
