Importing practices

You can import practices into process descriptions in a project area, team area, or process template. You can import practices that have been exported from other project areas, team areas, or templates or have been created in IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Method Composer.

Before you begin

To import a practice into a project area process description, you must be a member of the project area and have Modify the process description permission. To import a practice into a process template, you must have either JazzProjectAdmins or JazzAdmins repository group permissions.

Example

This example shows how to import all of the practices from the OpenUp process library. From within IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Method Composer, you can export the library to a .zip file. Then, navigate to that .zip file in the Import window, as Figure 1 shows.

After the import operation finishes, the practices from the library are visible in the editor, as Figure 2 shows. You can then add, modify, and remove practices from the process description to customize it for your project.
