Installing the IBM Engineering Workflow Management client on Visual Studio

Review the following steps to install IBM® Engineering Workflow Management client on Visual Studio.

Procedure

  1. Close all the running Visual Studio clients.
  2. Extract the interim fix zip file to the computer, where the IBM Engineering Workflow Management for Visual Studio IDE is installed.
  3. In the IBM Installation Manger, click File > Preferences > Repositories > Add repository, and provide the path to repository.config file, which is under the folder extracted in the previous step.
  4. Click Ok to close the Preferences window.
  5. Select the Save files for rollback checkbox located under File > Preferences.
  6. If you agree to the terms, accept the license agreement, and click Install.
  7. In the Installation Manager, click Update.
  8. Select IBM Engineering Workflow Management Client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE package group, and click Next.
  9. If you agree to the terms, accept the license agreement, and click Install.
  10. Select the Visual Studio versions, and click Next.
  11. Click Update , and click Finish to complete update.
  12. After the installation is complete, start the Engineering Workflow Management Client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.
  13. To update the interim fix, install the new version directly over the old interim fix. Do not uninstall the old interim fix.
  14. To roll back to the previous client version, complete the following steps:
    1. Close all the running Visual Studio clients.
    2. In the IBM Installation Manager, click Roll Back.
    3. Select the IBM Engineering Workflow Management Client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE package group, and click Next.
    4. Select the interim fix to roll back to, and click Rollback.
    5. Click Finish.
      Note:
      • You can install this interim fix on top of 7.0.2 SR1 release or any previous 7.0.2 interim fix release after 7.0.2 SR1.
      • To remove a patch, use only Roll Back in the Installation Manager.
      • Uninstalling the patch will completely remove the SR1 release along with the patches installed on top of it.
