Synchronizing data with the ClearCase Synchronizer
You must configure the synchronization host and create
a ClearCase® Synchronized
Stream before any files or folders can be synchronized with Rational®
ClearCase .
Creating a ClearCase Synchronized Stream and merge workspace
Use the New ClearCase-Synchronized Stream wizard to create a IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM ) stream and associate it with an existing Rational ClearCase stream. You can resolve conflicts that occur during synchronization in a merge workspace, which is a repository workspace that is created with the stream.
Running synchronizations
Synchronization is managed by the synchronization engine process, which runs synchronizations at scheduled times. IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM ) users can also request a synchronization at any time. The merge workspace owner (the synchronized stream creator account ) monitors synchronization results in case merges are required or errors reported.
Delivering changes in a synchronized environment
A ClearCase Synchronized Stream can be used like any other IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM ) stream. You can create change sets in your repository workspace, deliver them to a synchronized stream, and accept changes that other EWM users or the synchronization process have delivered to the synchronized stream.
