Configuring and using the Rational® ClearQuest Bridge

You can submit and track defects, tasks, and enhancement requests by using Jazz® work items. Your team might also have to access ClearQuest records that are stored in a ClearQuest user database. With the ClearQuest Bridge, you can associate ClearQuest records with Jazz work items and work with the records in an agile environment.

Both the ClearQuest Bridge and the ClearQuest Synchronizer let you associate records and work items. However, the ClearQuest Bridge does not require you to create and maintain synchronization rules, or duplicate the data in multiple repositories.

Before you can use the ClearQuest Bridge, you must configure your ClearQuest and Jazz environments. See Configuring the ClearQuest Bridge to guide you through the prerequisites and steps that are required to configure your ClearQuest and Jazz environments.

You can create associations between work items and records from either IBM Engineering Workflow Management or ClearQuest. Regardless of where you create the associations, links are added to both the work item and the record.
