Creating impact analysis filters

Create a filter that is a list of artifact types or links that are included or ignored when you apply the filter to the impact analysis diagram.

About this task

The filters that you create or modify are available as choices in several places:
  • Impact Analysis Profiles screen in the Filters section
  • Impact Analysis Diagrams screen Edit Panel, in the Active Filters tab, Add Filter list box
  • Create Impact Analysis screen in the Filters section

Procedure

  1. In the main menu, click Analysis > Create > Impact Analysis Filter.
  2. In the editor, click in the title field, and type a unique name for the new filter.
  3. Set the artifacts for the impact analysis to ignore by clicking the Add Artifact Type icon.
    1. In the Add Filter (Artifact) window, select a value from the list box, and click Add.
      The new filter is in the Artifact Type list.
    2. Repeat the step to add more artifacts to be ignored or added.
  4. Set the artifacts to ignore in the impact analysis by clicking the Add Link Type icon.
    1. In the Add Filter (Link) window, select a value from the list box, and click Add.
      The new filter is in the Link Type list.
    2. Repeat the step to add more links to be ignored or added.
  5. To exclude the artifact types, and list types that are specified in the corresponding sections, select the Ignore selected artifacts and links check box. To include only the artifact types and link types that are listed, clear the Ignore selected artifacts and links check box.

    The new impact analysis filter is included in the list of available filters.

  6. Optional: Export the filter to another IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Engineering Insights (ENI installation.
    1. In the main menu, click Analysis > Browse > Impact Analysis Filters.
    2. Check the boxes that correspond to the filter names that you want to export.
    3. Click the Export Selected Filters icon to start the download.
