Creating a Rhapsody Model Manager project area using the Rational Team Concert client

Before creating a Rational® Rhapsody® model that uses Rhapsody Model Manager, you should create an Rhapsody Model Manager-based project area in Rational Team Concert®.

  1. Open the Rational Team Concert client.
  2. Create a repository connection using the URL: https://<server:port>/am/
The am at the end of the URL specifies that it is an Architecture Management repository connection.
  3. Right-click the repository connection that you created to open the pop-up menu.
  4. Select Manage Connected Project Areas.
  5. At the bottom of the Manage Connected Project Areas window, click Go to the Create Project Area wizard.
  6. Provide a name and description for the project area, and click Next.
  7. Select the Architecture Management Default Process template, and click Finish.
  8. Right-click the new project area that was created, and select the Open option.
  9. On the Overview tab, add members as you would for any Rational Team Concert project area.
  10. On the Links tab, set up an association between the project area and the Rational DOORS® or Rational DOORS Next Generation databases that contain the requirements that you may want to link to Rational Rhapsody model elements.
    Add Association window
    Note:

When you add an association, the first item you have to select is the Requirements Management application. If you used a custom application context root value for the Requirements Management application when you configured the Jazz server, select the custom value that you defined, which will appear in the list in place of the default value, rm.

For more information on creating associations, see this help topic on creating associations between projects.

  11. On the Links tab, set up an association to a CCM project area to make it possible to create links between model elements and CCM work items:
    1. For the Application, select /ccm.
    2. For the Association, select Uses – Change Requests.
    3. For the Artifact Container, select the relevant CMM project area.
  12. On the Links tab, set up an association to a CCM project area to make it possible to associate change sets with CCM work items before delivering the change sets:
    1. For the Application, select /ccm.
    2. For the Association, select Uses – Change Sets.
    3. For the Artifact Container, select the relevant CMM project area.
Note: The Rhapsody Model Manager server cannot be used to manage work items. You must have a separate Rational Team Concert server for managing work items, and have an association between the relevant Rhapsody Model Manager project area and the relevant Rational Team Concert project area. Once the association has been made, you can associate model changes with change requests from the Rational Team Concert project area.
  13. Click the Save button to save the changes that you made to the project area.
