Updating custom Word templates to use in version 4.0 or later of the IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next application

After you upgrade the DOORS® Next to version 4.0 or later from a release of version 3.0 or earlier, problems occur in custom Microsoft Word templates.

Problem

In releases of version 3.0 and earlier, custom Word templates use the .dot extension. Starting in version 4.0, those templates use the .doc extension.

When you upgrade to version 4.0 or later, the templates that are included in the DOORS Next application are automatically updated to the .doc extension. However, custom templates are not updated. As a result, problems can occur in the custom templates.

Solution
