Setting up a local workspace for sharing by reference
You can set up a local workspace for sharing by reference for configuration management.
Procedure
- Create a project directory on your local hard disk.

Make a copy of the
.rpyx
file from the common directory to your local project directory. - Create a
<project>_rpy
directory inside the project directory so that your local file structure resembles the following figure: - Start Rhapsody® .

Open the
.rpyx
file on your local machine, selecting the Without Subunits check box. The project opens with all units marked as unloaded (U) and read‑only (RO). - Open the Add to Model window. Choose .

Locate the master project and select the master
.rpyx
file. - Select the As Reference radio button, and click Open to open the Add to Model from Another Project window.
- In the Unit Type drop‑down list, select All and click the Select All button.
- Select the As reference radio button.
- To include associations, aggregations, dependencies, or similar relations, select the Add Dependents check box.
- Click OK. All units in your local project are now read‑only (RO), but they are no longer unloaded (U).
