Creating dependencies

A dependency is a directed relationship from a client to a supplier in which the functioning of a client requires the presence of the supplier, but the functioning of the supplier does not require the presence of the client. Generalizations are allowed between any two use-case diagram elements: use case, actor, or package.

Procedure

  1. Click the Dependency button Dependency button.
  2. Select the client element.
  3. Move the cursor to the closest edge of the supplier element and click once.

Results

You can set the dependency stereotype using the Features window.
