Configuring DOORS to export DOORS Objects URL

About this task

To navigate from Rhapsody to the original DOORS Object, a new attribute must be created in DOORS . For this:

Procedure

  1. Open the DOORS Formal Module for which the attribute must be created. It is necessary to create the attribute for all Formal Modules to synchronize.
  2. Select Edit > Attributes.
  3. Click New.
    1. Set a name to the Attribute.
      For example, you can use DOORS_URL.
    2. Set the type of the attribute.
      For example, you can use Text.
  4. For each object in the formal module, set its DOORS_URL value, for this:
    1. Right-click on the Object, and select Copy URL:
    2. Right-click the Object, and select Properties
    3. Select the Attributes tab.
    4. Select the DOORS_URL attribute, and click View/Edit.
    5. In the value part, paste the URL previously copied:

      The DOORS_URL attribute can be seen by adding a DOORS_URL column to the current View:

Configuring ReqXChanger to export and synchronize with Rhapsody

About this task

ReqXChanger needs to be configured to enable the navigation:

Procedure

  1. From ReqXChanger, reads the exported ReqIF file (with the Attribute URL).
  2. From Rhapsody Options, go to Mode > Weblink option and select Create Weblink during Export.
  3. Select Mode > Weblink > Weblink Mapping.
    1. Set a name to the Hyperlink.
    2. From the URL-Mapping option, select $DOORS_URL$.
    3. Click OK.

      Requirements can now be synchronized with ReqXChanger.

      For each Requirement created in Rhapsody , a hyperlink is also created. You can use this hyperlink to navigate to the original DOORS Requirement:

      If the Create Weblink during Export was not set before the first synchronization, hyperlinks are created only for new requirements, or the elements that have been modified.

      It is however possible to create hyperlinks in Rhapsody by selecting Mode > Changes > Element Comparison > Check Attributes Values :
