Extending digital thread
You can now define and manage dependencies of engineering data by using digital threads in IBM® Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody.
- Streamlined Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) linking
-
Seamlessly create OSLC links between two architecture elements of the Rhapsody domain. When created, you can use the loaded remote artifacts to link with other architecture elements. To add an OSLC link, use these three types of links:
- Allocates
- Tracks
- Realizes
You can also add links from OSLC Link tab in the Feature dialog. View the linked elements in the table view of the model browser or in the web view of an element.
- New drag-and-drop functions
-
You can now select and drag the elements from a web-based Engineering Lifecycle Management application to Rhapsody browser tree. When you confirm the type of the links, you can view the linked elements with the Rhapsody element.
- Cross-server linking
- Align upstream links across different servers, enabling traceability and collaboration among system and software model elements.
Using IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody and IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS 9 together
- Visualize requirements and traceability
- Visualize requirements and their traceability to models directly within Rhapsody.
- Explore models in DOORS®
- Access and visualize model diagrams, elements, and their traceability within DOORS 9.
- Navigate the digital thread
- Navigate across the digital thread by linking DOORS and Rhapsody for a cohesive workflow.
- Generate traceability and coverage reports
- Obtain comprehensive reports to ensure that all requirements are accounted for and properly linked to models.
- Change-aware synchronization
- Keep your requirements and models in sync with full awareness of changes, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Script-controlled synchronization
- Customize and automate synchronization processes to fit your specific needs.
- Migrate from Rhapsody Gateway
-
You can migrate a Rhapsody project that is created with Gateway to ReqXChanger. The links between Rhapsody model elements and DOORS requirements are preserved during the Gateway migration. Hence, you can export the Rhapsody model elements to DOORS . For more information, see Synchronizing Rhapsody model elements with DOORS.
The ReqXChanger feature is associated with the RPRG INCREMENT text that is generated for the Rhapsody Tools and Utilities Add-On.
Rhapsody integration and automation improvements
- Create links between model elements and Siemens Teamcenter requirements and parameters
-
You can now create links between Rhapsody model elements and Siemens Teamcenter requirements and parameters. Contact Siemens for the enabling plug-ins.
- Dynamic menu changes APIs
- Enable or disable Rhapsody menu options on demand, resulting in a more customized and simplified user experience.
Testing and usability improvements
- Test Conductor Enhancements
-
- Use messages in C®++ black box testing: In black box testing, it is now possible to drive messages through C++ template instances.
- Extended test case coverage for DOORS Next remote requirements: The Test Case Coverage table view in the TestConductor Testing Profile has been extended to include DOORS Next Remote Requirements, offering a more comprehensive overview of your test cases.
- Technical preview of
Message Mapper
: Introducing a technical preview of the Message Mapper, a tool for transferring message-related test scenarios from one test architecture to another, simplifying scenario migration across different architectures. - Test with multicast SysML proxy ports: Automatic testcase generation now includes support for multicast SysML proxy ports, further broadening the scope of automated testing.
For more information, see Model-Based Testing with TestConductor and Automatic Test Generation (ATG)
- Improved parallel development
-
- Enhanced prompts for parallel development: In a team environment, the new messages make it easier to know when you are not working with the last version of your model. Updating to the newer version before delivering changes greatly simplifies merge activities.
- New Rhapsody menu controls
-
- Sophisticated customization: New menu controls offer greater customization, including the positioning and ordering of .hep files, compatibility assurances, and the ability to allow multiple entries for the same button in both the toolbar and menu.
- Removing user distractions
-
- Category folders trigger helpers: Adjustments are made to stop triggering helpers for category folders by default, reducing unnecessary interruptions.
- More concise HTML reports: Publishing an HTML report from a template now renders the table of contents with only two levels that are expanded instead of the entire model tree. This change makes reports more concise.
AUTOSAR Extension
- Enhanced workflow in the Rhapsody AUTOSAR Extension
- Workflow improvements in the AUTOSAR Extension promise to help teams better manage complex projects and improve overall productivity.
- New example models
-
The latest installation package now includes updated example models, providing you with valuable resources to better understand and apply AUTOSAR standards in your work. These models are designed to serve as a reference and help you quickly get up to speed with the latest practices.
