Opening multiple Rhapsody projects
You can have more than one project open at a time in the product. When you have more than one project open, you can use the browser in the product to copy and move elements from one project to another.
The following terms are used in the product in the context of working with multiple projects:
- Projects is the high-level container (or folder) for all open
projects in a Rhapsody® session
(saved as an
.rpl
file). The Projects folder contains the list of projects, which can be saved and reopened. - Active Project is the project that you can currently be modify. The active project is also the project to which Rhapsody commands, such as for code generation, are applied (unless the command opens a window in which you can specify which project to use).
- Load on demand is a mode for working in large projects (active and non-active) in Rhapsody or Eclipse workspaces using only the necessary elements that you need to perform an operation, such as code generation. Working in this mode increases performance by reducing the amount of memory required to complete an operation. All elements appear as they normally would when you navigate with your project browser, however, Rhapsody loads and uses only the required resources to perform an operation on demand. To work with projects in this mode, select Load On Demand when you open the project.rpy file.
Note: When you select Load On Demand, you override the other
options for restoring a project from your last session and loading
the project with or without subunits.
