Adding proxy ports to a connector

You can use the Rhapsody® proxy port wizard.

Before you begin

In a block definition diagram, add at least two blocks, each containing operations and attributes.

About this task

You can use the proxy port wizard to add and configure proxy ports on a connector between two interface blocks in a block definition diagram. Proxy ports externalize the parts, attributes, and operations that are owned by an interface block. When you add proxy ports on each side of a connector, you externalize the elements of each block so they can be used by elements in the other block.

Procedure

  1. In a block definition diagram, right-click a part.
  2. Select SysML > Create/Update Proxyport.
  3. In the Create Proxyport window, enter a name, then select the appropriate interface block
  4. Under Block Features, select the block features you want to externalize.
  5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 for each of the blocks you want to connect in the diagram.
  6. On the drawing pallet, select the Connector Connector icon icon.
  7. Place the cursor on the edge of a block, then drag it across to the edge of another block.
  8. Right-click the connector, then select SysML > Elaborate Connector Via Ports.
  9. Complete the steps in the wizard to add proxy ports to the connector.
