Installing the IBM Engineering AI Hub operator using Red Hat OpenShift

Installing IBM Engineering AI Hub using the Red Hat® OpenShift® console includes configuring the catalog source, verifying the catalog source pod status, and then using the Software Catalog to install the operator.

Before you begin

Create the catalog source. For more information, see Creating the catalog source by using Red Hat OpenShift.

About this task

Note: Installation of IBM Engineering AI Hub using Helm charts is not supported.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Red Hat OpenShift Container platform console.
  2. Verify that the catalog source pod is running by completing the following steps:
    1. From the Projects list, switch to openshift-marketplace project.
    2. Go to Workloads > Pods. Check if the pod is running. The pod name is similar to the name that you provided in the input for catalog source, ibm-elmaihub-operator-catalog.
  3. From the context selector in the navigation menu, click Ecosystem > Software Catalog. The Software Catalog page opens.
  4. To look for the IBM Engineering AI Hub software operator, enter full or partial keywords into the search box. For example, enter IBM Engineering AI Hub, and then click the tile.
  5. Click Install.
  6. From the Installed Namespace list, select the required namespace.
  7. Select the Update approval strategy as manual or automatic.
  8. Click Install. The operator is installed.
  9. To view the details of the operator, click View Operator.
  10. Go to the Subscription tab and verify the installed version and upgrade status.
