Adding the Engineering Assistant widget to the mini-dashboard

Add the Engineering Assistant widget to your DOORS® Next mini-dashboard to interact with the Engineering Assistant agent directly from your project area.

Before you begin

Verify the following:
  • Engineering AI Hub is configured and accessible from DOORS Next.
  • Assistant is running.

    Open https://[your-aihub_hostname]/rm/conversation.html and confirm the interface loads without errors.

  • Gadget is accessible.

    Open https://[your-aihub_hostname]/rm/conversation/ext.xml and confirm the XML file renders or downloads successfully.

Procedure

  1. Open DOORS Next and navigate to the relevant project area.
  2. On the left side, open the mini dashboard. If the dashboard is not visible, enable it. You can pin the dashboard to keep it always visible.
  3. Click Add Widget icon.
  4. If the widget is added to the widget catalog, use the following steps to add the widget to the mini dashboard:
    1. From the Select category section in the Add Widget window, select AI.
    2. Locate the Engineering Assistant widget, and click Add Widget .
  5. If the widget is not available in the widget catalog, you can add it using Add OpenSocial Gadget.
    1. In the Add Widget window, click Add OpenSocial Gadget to open the widget dialog box.
    2. In the URL field, add the gadget URL: https://[your-aihub_hostname]/rm/conversation/ext.xml
    3. Select and add the widgets.

What to do next

After adding the widget, verify its functionality within the project dashboard. Ensure that it interacts correctly with the Engineering Assistant and displays expected outputs.
