Getting started
Learn how to enable Requirements quality analysis and Requirement recommendation agents in IBM® DOORS® Next. The setup involves tasks for Engineering AI Hub administrators, IBM DOORS Next administrators, and engineers. Each role contributes to configuring, connecting, and using agents to improve requirement quality.
To use the IBM Engineering AI Hub Engineering Assistant agent, complete the following tasks based on your role:
- Engineering AI Hub administrator (Red Hat® OpenShift® project administrator)
- Install and configure Engineering AI Hub and related prerequisites. For more information, see Getting started for administrator.

Specify requirement types for analysis. Define which requirement artifact types the agents should analyze. This tailors the analysis to your organization’s data model and avoids scoring artifacts that are not requirements.
- Modify rule weights for quality scoring. Customize the rule weights used by the Requirements quality analysis agent. Customizing the rule weights allows you to prioritize certain quality dimensions. For more information, see Customizing rule groups and artifact types for Requirement quality analysis agent.

- IBM DOORS Next administrator

As the IBM DOORS Next administrator, you configure the server to add the Engineering AIHub URL to the allowlist. This enables communication between DOORS Next and Engineering AI Hub . You can also add the Requirement quality analysis widget to the widget catalog. For more information, see Configuring DOORS Next for Requirements quality analysis and recommendation agent.
- IBM DOORS Next project area administrator
- Create the required attributes and add them to your artifact types in all project areas, for which you want to make the Engineering Assistant agent available. For more information, see Configuring project area.
- Engineer
- Add the Requirements quality analysis and recommendation agents widget to your DOORS Next mini-dashboard.
- Open your IBM DOORS Next mini-dashboard.
- Ask your administrator for the Requirements quality analysis widget URL.
- Add the Requirements quality analysis widget to your mini-dashboard so that you can initiate requirements quality analysis for your requirements. For more information, see Adding the Requirements quality analysis agent widget to the mini-dashboard.
- To manage requirement quality scores, see Understanding quality scores and rule groups.
What to do next
When the setup is complete:
- Engineers can begin analyzing requirements from DOORS Next .
- Engineers and managers can report on quality scores (if attributes were added to requirement types).
- Project administrators can monitor and refine the configuration.
- Engineering AI Hub administrators can maintain and scale the deployment as needed.
