Using Work Item compose agent

Use the Work Item compose agent to generate high-quality, structured drafts for epics, features, and user stories in Engineering Workflow Management.

Before you begin

Before you begin, ensure that:

  • The Work Item compose agent is configured and enabled in your Engineering Workflow Management project area
  • You have permission to create and edit work items
  • The description field is enable for the supported work item types.

Procedure

  1. Open work item from one of the following location:
    LocationSteps
    Work item editor Open the work item.
    Plan Click the Actions menu next to the work item you want to edit and clickEdit Work Item to open the work item in a popup window.
    Query Click the Edit icon in the theAction column .
  2. Click within the description field of the work item.
  3. Click Generate work item content icon from the rich-text editor toolbar
    Generation typically takes a few seconds. A progress indicator may be displayed during this time.
  4. Once the content is generated, you can review the AI-generated content to finalize it.
    1. Compare the original text with the AI‑generated version. You can edit the generated content directly in the work item editor to update the content as required
    2. If you want to replace the original content with the AI-generated content, click Accept.
      You can click Reject if you want to retain the original content and discard the AI-generated content.
      Note: Similarly, you can also create AI-generated content for Acceptance criteria using the Work Item compose agent.
  5. Save the work item.
