Installing BIRT tools

Install BIRT reporting tools into your Eclipse client so that you can create or modify report template design files.

1. Start the Eclipse client.
2. Click Help > Install New Software.
3. In the Available Software page, click Available Software Sites:
   
4. In the Available Software Sites page, click Add. In the Name field, type a name for the site, and in the URL field, type the URL for that is appropriate for your Eclipse version. Use the following URL in the Install New Software feature:
   • Eclipse v 4.5.x: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars
   • Eclipse v 4.6.x: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/neon

   Note: Use a version of BIRT, which is compatible with the version of Eclipse that you use.

   
5. In the Available Software Sites page, in the drop-down, select the site that you just added:
   
6. From the list of features available to install, select Business Intelligence, Reporting and Charting.
   
   Click Next, click Next again, accept the licences, and click Finish.
7. Click Open Perspective, and then click Report Design.
