To migrate your queries from 5.0.2 or older versions to version 6.0.2, you must export
your queries from your existing Rational® Engineering Lifecycle
Manager
installation. Administrators import the queries archive into the version 6.0.2 Report
Builder.
Before you begin
To import queries into the Report Builder, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- Report Builder must be installed and registered as an application with the Jazz™™ Team Server.
- A default data source must be configured for Report Builder, and you must be connected to
it.
- You must have Jazz administrative privileges or be a report manager.
About this task
To migrate queries complete these steps:
- In your existing Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager
installation, export the queries as a .zip file. The queries archive contains
an XML file. The file name is custom.sparql. All the
exported queries are described in the XML file.
- Import the queries .zip file into the version 6.0.2 Report Builder.
You can also migrate enumerations that are used in queries
as parameters. To migrate enumerations, complete these steps:
- Export the enumerations as a .zip file. The
enumerations archive contains an XML file. The
file name is custom.enumeration. The exported
enumerations are described in the XML file.
- Extract the enumerations archive, and copy the custom.enumeration file
into the queries archive.
- Import the queries archive into the version 6.0.2 Report Builder.
Procedure
- In a browser window, log on to your existing Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager
application at
https://server:port/relm/web, and open
your project.
- Go to page, select the queries that you
want to export.
- Click the Export icon:
.
- The selected queries are saved into a .zip file
on your computer. The .zip file follows a naming
convention of the number of queries in the package, the content type,
and then an ISO 8601 time stamp. For example, the package that is
created on April 23 2014 is called: 3_queries_2013-04-23T19_07_35Z.zip
Note: To export enumerations, follow these steps:
- Open the Enumeration Manager dialog box
to export enumerations from the Queries edit
window.
- Select a query that contains an enumeration.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the query.
- In the Parameters section, select Enumeration from
the Type list.
- Select More under any enumeration parameter
to start the Enumeration Manager.
- Click the Export icon:
. The enumerations
are exported in a .zip file.
- Extract the enumerations .zip file, and copy
the custom.enumeration file into the queries
archive.
- In a browser window, log on to the version 6.0.2 Report Builder administration page at
https://server:port/rs/setup.
- Click Optional: Import additional reports such as those provided by IBM, business
partners, or others, browse to your saved queries archive, select the data source to
import the reports into, and click OK to import the Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager queries
into the Report Builder.
Results
The
Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager queries
and enumerations that you exported are now available in the version 6.0.2 Report Builder. You can
view the imported queries as
Jazz Reporting Service
reports.
What to do next
Important: Administrators cannot export personal queries that are saved in the
My Queries folder. Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager users
must export their personal queries and send them to the administrator. As an administrator, you can
import the queries into the Report Builder. The users can then access the Rational Engineering Lifecycle
Manager queries,
which are reports in the Report Builder. Users who do not want to share the reports with the team
can save the reports in the My Stuff folder, and ask the administrator to
remove the imported shared reports.
