This is the first release of the IBM Data Virtualization Manager server version 2.1.0, bringing powerful new capabilities to help you unlock the full potential of your data.
Key Features in Version 2.1.0:
- Data Virtualization Manager Web UI
Data Virtualization Manage Web User Interface (UI) is a browser-based platform designed for simplifying and streamlining your data virtualization processes.
With the new Web UI, you can:
- Create Objects: Creation of virtual tables for VSAM, VSAM CICS, sequential, and IMS data sources.
- Execute SQL Queries: Run and validate SQL queries on both existing and newly created virtual tables and views directly from the interface.
- Explore Objects: Quickly browse and interact with virtual tables, views, and metadata. Save and reuse queries for faster access and analysis.

Copying selected SMF MAPS
Data Virtualization Manager now allows users to work with only selected maps. You can focus on the SMF MAPS relevant to your needs without having to navigate the entire default schema.

- Tracking MAP Usage
Data Virtualization Manager now enables users to track the usage of virtual tables and views to analyze the frequency of their usage. This usage data can help users remove unused maps, thereby reducing resource usage.

Using new schemas for SMFMAPS
Data Virtualization Manager now allows users to group SMF MAPS into new schemas based on specific functionalities. The users can load only the necessary schemas into memory, thereby optimizing resource usage and improving system performance.

Using batch jobs for virtual tables
Data Virtualization Manager now provides a batch job to create virtual tables in bulk, reducing the effort required to create multiple tables manually. This capability is currently supported only for virtual tables for VSAM and IMS data sources.

Enhanced security support for SAF
Data Virtualization Manager now increases the length of the RACF resource name to support profile names (virtual objects) greater than 44 characters.

Adabas SMF record enhancement
Data Virtualization Manager now increases the information captured for Adabas SMF records, giving the user more detail regarding DVM queries.
