Windows ODBC driver V3.1 and V3.2 installation

This section describes the procedure to install the ODBC driver.

Install the ODBC driver

To download and install the correct ODBC drivers for your Windows environment, complete the following steps:

  1. From the download site, locate and download the appropriate executable NSIS installer for your environment.
  2. Double-click the installation file or alternatively, select the installation file, right-click, and select Open or Run as Administrator from the pop-up menu.
  3. The installation process installs the driver, utilities, and sample programs, as shown in the following table. It requires approximately 15 MB of disk space.
    Install set Components installed
    Default ODBC driver and samples.
    Minimal ODBC driver only, installed onto local computer.
    Custom Allows customization of installed features
    Network Admins Only installs driver definitions on local machine. No physical drivers are installed locally. Drivers must already be installed on another network machine using the Network Install option.

    As part of the installation procedure, you are able to specify the destination folder and whether environment variables required by the driver are available to all users of the computer or only to the user who performs the installation.

    For example,

    To install the latest 64-bit ODBC 3.X driver for Windows environment, download and run the following executable file:

     DV_ODBC-3.X.xxxxx-win64.exe

    After installing the drivers, you can create and configure all necessary Data Sources using the 32-bit or 64-bit ODBC Administrator (odbcad3X.exe).

    Where X, represents the version of the ODBC driver installed.

Uninstall the ODBC driver

To uninstall the ODBC driver from the Windows environment, run the executable NSIS uninstaller Unistall Data Virtualization Manager server ODBC Driver 3.X.exe from the installation directory or run the appropriate shortcut.
