Electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions
Take ESD precautions when serving the Diamondback tape library.
Attention: Failure to take electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions when handling
electronic components or cables can result in damage or functional disruption. One shall ground
themselves prior to touching or handling electronics components or cables by attaching an ESD wrist
strap or touching a conductive surface at the outer perimeter of the library frame. An example of
functional disruption would be a momentary drop in the SAS link to a tape drive. If this were to
occur while the tape drive was being accessed, the running job may stop. If auto recovery processes
do not retry and complete the job, one may need to manually restart the job.
