Electronics Tray

The electronics tray in the Diamondback tape library reports status information through its LED indicators.

LED LED name LED color LED on indicates: Blinking LED indicates: No LED indicates:
1  Four Digit Display green Displays information about the library status. See The Boot-up process, After the boot-up process, Final display codes, Updating the library firmware. N/A No power
2  Electronics Tray power green +5 V dc or +12 V dc is present at drive During reset, LED may blink, indicating drive is attempting to unload cartridge prior to actual reset process +5 V dc or +12 V dc is missing at drive
3  Information blue There is a problem. More information is available on the management GUI. N/A N/A

The Boot-up process

When the LCC is reset, or the library is powered up the following codes are presented:
  • FPGA version

EXXX: The XXX refers to the version of the chip that controls the hardware logic.

  • Boot sequence countdown

Starting from FFFF, the display counts down to FFF0. Each change indicates a different step in the boot-up sequence.

    Attention:
    • If the LCC display stays the codes EXXX or FXXX for more than 30 seconds, there is an internal LCC problem.
    • If the LCC display hangs on FFFd then there is no compact flash card in the electronics tray.

After the boot-up process

The display for primary LCC will toggle between two sets of codes: A0XX and 00AX..
  1. The A in A0XX refers to the LCC slot position. The XX refers to the frame number and should always be 01.
  2. The A in 00AX means that the LCC is primary. This numeric number counts down and eventually remains at zero.

Final display codes

Under normal operation, the four digit display will toggle between A001 and 00A0.

Updating the library firmware

There are two codes that can appear when the library firmware is updated:
  1. CF0X: This code means that a user is updating the library firmware. The X shows the update progress by a descending sequence (F, E, D...0).
  2. CE0X: This code means the LCC is down level and is updating its firmware from the primary LCC. This update is not initiated by a user. As with the previous code, the X shows the update progress by a descending progress sequence (F, E, D...0) .

Power Supplies

The Electronics Tray has two power supplies. Each one has 3 LEDs.
  1. Information indicator
  2. AC indicator
  3. DC indicator
