Use the management GUI to move data, scratch, or cleaning cartridges from storage slots
to a service magazine for removal from the library.
About this task
When initiated from the management GUI, the Move To I/O Slot operation has a higher
priority that any other server export commands.
Procedure
Complete the following steps to remove cartridges from the library:
From the management GUI, select Cartridges > Cartridges to view a table that displays all cartridges in the library. Select Cartridges > Cartridges by Logical Library to view a table that displays all cartridges in the library by their assigned logical
library.
Filter the table to locate the cartridge or cartridges to be removed.
Right click on the cartridge or cartridges to be removed and select
Actions > Move > To I/O Slot.
Monitor the state of the cartridges that are being removed in the State column on the
Cartridges or Cartridges by Logical Library page of the
management GUI.
Open the back door of the library.
Remove the magazine by lifting up the blue tab ( 1 as in
Figure 1 ) and pull the magazine out.

Attention: Make sure that the cartridge magazine is kept in a horizontal position while
moving it out of the library.
Place the magazine on a table, and remove the required cartridge/cartridges.
After removing the cartridge/cartridges, place the magazine back into its slot in the
library.
