Using the Data Set Object Selection List (OLIST)

Use the command shortcut OL SPIF*MAC* to display a selection list of all cataloged data sets with a name that begins with “SPIF” and follows with “MAC” anywhere in the rest of the name.

To display the OLIST Online Assist main menu, use the main command A.

Use the main command 5 to select, in an “object oriented fashion”, the fifth object named 'SPIFFY.HDZ2230.DF102.MACRO'. Since that object is a partitioned data set (PDSE), the associated handler such as DSC MSL manager is invoked to display a Member Selection List (MSL) of all the members of that library data set.

To display an OLIST of all data sets residing on the volume USR021, type OLVTOC (or OLV) in the main command line and point and shoot at the volume serial USR021 of the fourth row.

Point and shoot at the Volume heading or enter the main command RCHANGE (F6 key) to get the following screen:
