Monitoring system health
You can monitor the health of your DS8000 storage system in real time by viewing the status of hardware components, errors, and alerting events in the DS8000 Storage Management GUI.
Monitoring capacity
You can monitor the capacity of your DS8000 storage system by viewing details such as the available, provisioned, and used capacity.
Monitoring system events
You can monitor all of the events that occur on your DS8000 storage system and change the severity of some events.
Monitoring performance
You can monitor performance of your DS8000 storage system to evaluate workload processing and response times.
Monitoring Fibre Channel ports
You can use the Logged in WWPNs for I/O port window to view details about connections that are logged in to a Fibre Channel port.
Monitoring Fibre Channel port errors
You can monitor errors that occur on the Fibre Channel ports (also referred to as I/O ports) that connect your DS8000 storage system to host systems or other storage systems.
Monitoring power usage
You can monitor power usage and the average inlet temperature of your DS8000 system over time.

Use the Copy Services pages to view information about copy services relationships including FlashCopy, mirroring, and mirroring paths.
Exporting audit logs
You can export and download an audit log for the storage system. Audit logs provide a record for auditing purposes to determine when changes were made to a storage system and by which user.
Exporting syslog server audit logs
You can export a syslog server audit log. Audit logs provide a record for auditing purposes to determine when changes were made to a storage system and by which user. Only informational messages are forwarded to the syslog server.
Exporting the system summary
You can export a CSV file that contains a summary of the system.
Exporting the system performance summary
You can download a CSV file that contains a summary of the storage system performance data. Use the contact information on the IBM Support Portal (accessible from the landing page in IBM Documentation) for sending the CSV file, if necessary.
Exporting the Easy Tier summary
You can download a CSV file that contains a summary of the Easy Tier performance data.
Exporting performance graph data
You can create and download a CSV file that contains data from the performance graph that is displayed on the Performance page.
