About this task

Note: This process can be done concurrently with customer activity on the storage facility.

Procedure

  1. You must do these mandatory pre-checks before going to the next step:
    • The Rack-1 model must be 9A2/9B2 (dual SFI storage facility image).
    • The Rack-1 model must be 941 with RPQ for dual SFI storage facility image.
    • The RPQ only supports 50%/50% split ratio. Do not set 25%/75% or 75%/25% split ratios.
    • Any open serviceable events must be repaired before continuing.
Note: The only exception is for serviceable events with only a DDM in the FRU list.
    • Run View storage facility state. Refer to MAP1100 View storage facility state (end of call).
    • Run CDA Pre-Verify. Refer to MAP1214 Run CdaPreVerify.
    • Each CEC enclosure (managed system) must have a minimum of 32 GB memory. Refer to MAP4120 Section-2.
  2. Display the memory and processor usage.
    1. From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Server View > server.
    2. From the bottom Task area, click Service Utilities > View/Change processor and memory allocation (Variable Image). The View/Change processor and memory allocation (Variable Image) window opens.
  3. Check the following fields for each managed system:
    • Num of Partitions = 2
    • Configurable Memory = 32xxx (minimum)
    • Configurable Processors = 4
    • SF System Memory = 32xxx (minimum)
    • SF System Processors = 4
    • Deconfig Memory = 0
  4. Check the following fields for each LPAR managed system:
    • Partition State = Running
    • IML State = IML
    • Server State = Online
  5. Click Continue.

  12. Have you already used this procedure for both CEC enclosures (managed systems) in this storage facility?
    • Yes, run View storage facility state. Refer to MAP1100 View storage facility state (end of call) and then exit this MAP.
    • No, you must return to step 1 and repeat the procedure for the other CEC enclosure.
