MAP6F10 Accessing the ASMI using the management console

To access the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) using the management console, complete the following steps in this section.

Before you begin

Note: For the ASMI menu options, see MAP1221 ASMI menu structure.

Procedure

  1. Start the Advanced System Management (ASM) menu:
    From the service interface:
    1. From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Server View > server.
    2. From the bottom Task area, click Operations > Launch Advanced System Management (ASM).
    3. On the launch ASM interface confirmation, click OK.
    4. The management console Web browser is started, and the ASM login panel is displayed.
      Note: If access fails and you have a laptop available, try MAP6F20 Accessing the ASMI by using a web browser.
    From the customer interface:
    1. Click Service > Node n Management > Launch Advanced System Management (ASM).
      Note:
      For processor node 0 (upper / LPAR ESS01), select Node 0 Management.
      For processor node 1 (lower / LPAR ESS11), select Node 1 Management.
    2. On the launch ASM interface confirmation, click OK.
    3. The management console Web browser is started, and the ASM login panel is displayed.
      Note: If access fails and you have a laptop available, try MAP6F20 Accessing the ASMI by using a web browser.
  2. Log in as admin with a password of admin2107. If the login fails, log in as admin with a password of admin210.
    Notes:
    1. If you are logged in and not active for 15 minutes, your session expires.
    2. If you make five invalid login attempts, your user account is locked out for five minutes and none of the other accounts is affected.
