Cloud service providers

The system supports connections to various cloud service providers. Some cloud service providers require connections over external networks, and others can be created on a private network.

Each cloud service provider requires different configuration options. The system supports the following cloud service providers:
IBM Bluemix - Cloud Object Storage
The system can connect to IBM Bluemix - Cloud Object Storage as a public cloud service provider. When you configure the Cloud Object Storage, the Openstack Swift API must be selected in this release.
Openstack Swift Based Private Cloud
The system can also support to connecting to various Openstack Swift based private clouds. OpenStack Swift is a standard cloud computing architecture from which administrators can manage storage and networking resources in a single private cloud environment. Standard application programmable interfaces (APIs) can be used to build customizable solutions for a private cloud solution.
IBM TS7700
The system can connect to an IBM TS7700 as a potential object storage target. The IBM TS7700 can be used as a similar private cloud provider, allowing the user to integrate existing virtual tape hardware with the advantages of transparent cloud tiering.
Amazon S3
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) provides programmers and storage administrators with flexible and secure public cloud storage. Amazon S3 is also based on object storage standards and provides a web-based interface to manage, back up, and restore data over the web.
