Installing IBM® Copy Services Manager on the DS8000 HMCs

You can install Copy Services Manager software on either one or two HMCs on the DS8000® system by using the DS command-line interface.

Before you begin

The following items must be in place before you can install Copy Services Manager on the DS8000 system for Copy Services Manager usage:
  • Copy Services Manager V6.1.2 or later must be installed on the HMC.
  • The DS command-line interface must be installed.

About this task

Copy Services Manager is an optional software feature that can be used to manage replication for the DS8000 system. You can easily manage a large volume of Copy Services functions using Copy Services Manager.

Complete the following steps to install Copy Services Manager on one or two HMCs.

Procedure

  1. Install the Copy Services Manager software by using the installsoftware command. Specify the full path of the Copy Services Manager installation package. For example, I9801 csm-setup-6.1.2-linux-x86_64.bin. For more information, see the installsoftware command.
  2. Enter the lssoftware command by using the -s or -l parameter to generate a report that lists the installed Copy Services Manager software. For more information, see the lssoftware command.
  3. Verify that the connection link was established between the DS8000 system and the server that contains the Copy Services Manager software program.
