Fibre Channel Connectivity Report
The Fibre Channel (FC) Connectivity report is a CSV file that contains information about all logged in FC connections. This includes connections to Open System hosts, IBM Z / LinuxONE servers, or other DS8000 storage systems.
Descriptions
The Fibre Channel Connectivity report in the following table is presented in the order in which they appear in the CSV file.
Data | Description |
---|---|
Local Port ID | The ID of the Fibre Channel port on the DS8000® system. It is used as the main identifier in the GUI and DS CLI. |
Local Port FC ID | The Fibre Channel address identifier that is assigned to the port. |
Local Port WWPN | Local port FC worldwide port name. |
Local Port WWNN | Local port FC worldwide node name. |
Local Port Security Capability | The local HA port's security feature capability
|
Local Port Security Configuration | The Local Port Security Configuration is the configuration set by the GUI for
the port or by the setioport-security command. The values are:
|
Local Port Logins | The number of remote ports (host ports, or mirroring ports) currently logged in to the local port. |
Local Port Security Capable Logins | The number of remote hosts or mirroring ports that are currently logged in to the port, which is capable of Fibre Channel security protocols. |
Local Port Authentication Only Logins | The number of remote hosts or mirroring ports that are currently logged in to the port, which successfully completed Link Authentication but do not support encryption. |
Local Port Encrypted Logins | The number of remote hosts or mirroring ports that are currently logged in to the port, which successfully authenticated and negotiated an encryption algorithm for Encryption of Data In Flight (EDIF). |
Attached Port WWPN | The FC worldwide port name that is provided by the attached port. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port WWNN | The FC worldwide node name that is provided by the attached port. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port Interface ID | The interface or port identifier that is provided by the attached port that identifies the physical location of the port. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port Type | The machine type that is provided by the attached node. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port Model | The model number that is provided by the attached node. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port Manufacturer | The manufacturer identifier that is provided by the attached node. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Attached Port SN | The system serial number that is provided by the attached node. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port WWPN | The FC worldwide port name of the remote host or peer port. If no logins, it shows “-”. |
Remote Port WWNN | The FC worldwide node name of the remote host or peer port. If no logins, it shows “-”. |
Remote Port FC ID | The Fibre Channel address identifier of the remote port. If no logins, it shows “-”. |
Remote Port PRLI Complete | Indicates, Yes or No, that the remote host has completed a Fibre Channel Process Login, which identifies the host protocol type and operating parameters. If no logins, it shows “-”. |
Remote Port Login Type | When PRLI Complete is yes, it identifies the type of host connection protocol
that is being used by the remote port. It consists one of:
|
Remote Port Security State | The current authentication state of the login includes:
|
Remote Port Security Config | The configuration of security capability of a remote mirroring port consists
of one of:
|
Remote Port Interface ID | The interface or port identifier that is provided by the remote port that identifies the physical location of the port. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port Type | The machine type provided by the remote port. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port Model | The machine model number provided by the remote port. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port SN | The machine serial number provided by the remote port. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port Manufacturer | The manufacturer identifier that is provided by the attached node. For a distributed FCP host, it is “Unknown” as they do not provide these attributes. If the port is not connected, “-” is reported. |
Remote Port System Name | The system name depends on what port login type it is:
