You must use Global Copy or Metro Mirror to
move workloads when you migrate data between storage systems.
Procedure
Complete the following process to move workloads between
storage systems.
- Establish paths between all Site A LSSs and the Site B
LSSs.
- Establish all necessary volume pairs between the Site A
storage systems and the Site B storage systems. You can use either Global Copy or Metro Mirror.
If you use Global Copy,
convert the pairs to IBM®
Metro Mirror after
the bulk copy is complete.
- Ensure that all remote mirror and copy volumes
are in duplex state.
- Quiesce all of the applications.
- End all remote mirror and copy pairs
across all ESSs.
- End all remote mirror and copy paths.
- Establish remote mirror and copy paths
from the Site B storage systems to the Site A storage systems.
- Establish all Metro Mirror pairs
from the Site B storage systems to the Site A storage systems.
- Suspend all remote mirror and copy pairs.
This action causes the storage systems to maintain a changed-track
bitmap for all suspended remote mirror and copy primary
volumes.
- Resume all the Site A applications that use the Site B
storage systems disks.
- Resume all the Site A applications that use the Site A
storage systems disks.
