mkhost
The mkhost command configures an open systems host system.
Parameters
- -dev storage_image_ID
- (Optional) The storage image ID, which consists of manufacturer, machine type, and serial number. The storage image ID is required if you do not specify a fully qualified host connection ID. It is also required if you did not set the devid variable in your profile or through the setenv command, and the HMC is aware of more than one storage image. Using the -dev parameter temporarily overrides any defined value for devid for the current command.
- -type AIX | AIX with PowerSwap | HP OpenVMS | HP-UX | IBMi AS/400 | iLinux | Linux RHEL | Linux SUSE | N series Gateway | Novell | pLinux | SAN Volume Controller | Solaris | VMware | Windows 2003 | Windows 2008 | Windows 2012 | zLinux
- (Required) The host type that is defined by the operating system.
- -hostport wwpn [,...]
- (Optional) The worldwide port names (WWPNs) of a set of host ports that are mapped to the specified host. The ellipsis (...) indicates that you can specify multiple values.
- -cluster cluster_name
- (Optional) The name of the cluster that this host is assigned to. Note: If cluster name contains a blank space, you must surround the name in quotation marks.
- host_name | -
- (Required) The name that you assigned to the host system. The name is limited to 32 byte or 16
double byte characters.
If you use the dash (-), the specified value is read from standard input. You cannot use the dash (-) while you are in the DS CLI interactive command mode.
