Upgrading execution stacks progressively

In this task of the rolling upgrade, you upgrade the execution stacks.

Before you begin

  1. Back up the client web applications.
  2. Install Decision Runtime for z/OS 9.6.0.

Procedure

  1. Stop each instance of the previous zRule Execution Server for z/OS, and start the new zRule Execution Server for z/OS instances.

    Each new zRule Execution Server for z/OS instance is now connected to the Rule Execution Server console of the target version.

  2. If you have rule sessions in Java™ client applications, upgrade from the previous version of zRule Execution Server for z/OS to the target version of zRule Execution Server for z/OS.
  3. If you have the hosted transparent decision services (HTDS) with an embedded XU installed on a different JVM from the Rule Execution Server console, upgrade it to the target version.
