Step 7: Configuring a Db2 persistence layer

To use a database rather than a file system, configure the persistence layer according to the following steps.

Omit this step if you plan to have the new instance share RuleApps that are stored in the persistence layer of an existing execution environment.

Note: When using DB2® Universal JDBC type 2 driver on z/OS®, the messaging engine fails to start. You might see the error {{{}Storage Allocation Error{}}}. This is a known issue and can be solved by tuning the JDBC driver. See Fixing storage allocation error caused by DB2 Universal JDBC Driver on z/OS.
