Monitoring profiles consist of monitoring profile lines that can be created, inserted,
updated, moved and deleted as needed to tailor a monitoring profile to fit your needs.
Procedure
To create and update monitoring profile lines:
-
On the Create Monitoring Profile
panel or the Update Monitoring Profile
panel, use line commands to perform the following
actions:
- Insert a new monitoring profile line
- Use the I line command; see Adding a monitoring profile line in ISPF.
- Update a monitoring profile line
- Use the U line command. For help with any of the fields or the subsequent panels that
might displayed depending on your selections, see Adding a monitoring profile line in ISPF.
- Duplicate a monitoring profile line
- Use the R line command. This command repeats the monitoring profile line below the
original. After the duplicate line is created, you can update it as needed.
If you need to
create several monitoring profile lines that are similar, the R command helps you create
these lines more efficiently.
- Delete a monitoring profile line
- Use the D line command.
- Copy a monitoring profile line
- Use the C line command as follows:
- Type C next to the profile line you want to copy.
- Type A (after) or B (before) next to the
line before or after which you want to insert the copied profile line.
- Press Enter. The profile line is copied into the appropriate location and can now be
updated as needed.
Copying enables you to quickly reproduce a profile line and then update it as
necessary
Note: If your profile has only one profile line and you want to duplicate it,
do not use the copy command. Instead, use the R (repeat) line
command.
- Move a monitoring profile line
- Use the M line command as follows:
- Type M next to the profile line you want to move.
- Type A (after) or B (before) next to the
line before or after which you want to move the selected profile line.
- Press Enter. The profile line is moved into the appropriate location.
Moving a monitoring profile line enables you to alter the order in which these lines
in a monitoring profile are processed and in turn the way the profile influences the
reporting of captured activity.
For more information about each of these line commands, use the online help (PF1).
-
When you are done editing your monitoring profile line, exit the panel (PF3) to save your
changes.
