Query tuning
The CAE browser client integrates with IBM® Db2® Query Workload Tuner for z/OS® so you can tune single SQL queries or SQL workloads.
Requirements for query tuning
To enable the integration required for query tuning from Db2 Query Monitor, your environment must meet the following requirements:
- IBM Unified Management Server for z/OS (UMS) 1.2.0.4 must be installed.
UMS is an architecture server that runs based on Zowe™.
- IBM Db2 Query Workload Tuner for z/OS must be installed.
Db2 Query Workload Tuner includes the following two components:
- IBM SQL Tuning Services for z/OS
SQL Tuning Services is a set of RESTful APIs that provide analysis and tuning services.
- IBM Db2 Administration Foundation for z/OS
Db2 Administration Foundation is a browser-based graphical user interface for managing Db2 for z/OS databases. It runs within an UMS environment.
- IBM SQL Tuning Services for z/OS
- The Db2 subsystem you choose for tuning must have an appropriate license and be configured for the type of query tuning that you want to perform.
