Administering users and roles

Administrators can add, modify, and remove users, and assign roles to control access and permissions in DataPower Interact Gateway.

Before you begin

You must have an Administrator role to manage users and roles in DataPower Interact Gateway.

Procedure

  • Add users and assign roles to them to access DataPower Interact Gateway.
    1. In DataPower Interact Gateway, click User management.
      The User management page contains the following tabs.
    2. Select Users tab and click Add user.
      The Add user page appears.
    3. Provide a unique username, first name, last name, email, and password.
    4. Select the roles that you want to assign to the user.
    5. Click Save.
      The user is added and displayed on the Manage user page. An email invitation is sent to the user's email address. The user must contact the administrator for the password and then use the link in the email to sign in.
  • Modify user details or roles assigned to the user.
    1. On the Manage user page, click the Edit icon corresponding to the user that you want to update.
      The Edit user page appears.
    2. Modify the user details or assigned roles as needed.
    3. Click Save.
      The updated information is saved and displayed on the Manage user page.
  • Remove users from the organization.

    On the Manage user page, click the Delete icon corresponding to the user that you want to remove.

    The user is removed from the organization and can no longer log in to DataPower Interact Gateway.
