Enabling traces

To help diagnose problems, you can enable traces for this optimization tool and for any JDBC drivers that are used. Select a JDBC trace to help determine if the connection to your DB2® for z/OS® subsystem is working. Select a generic trace to help troubleshoot other problems.

1. Select Window > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.
2. On the left side of the screen, select General.
3. Select one or more of the following check boxes:

   Enable trace

   Select this trace to help troubleshoot problems with this tool.

   Enable JDBC trace

   Select this trace to help determine if the DB2 for z/OS subsystem is connected correctly.

4. Optional: Change the maximum size of the trace file.
5. Click Apply. Tracing is enabled.

  You can change the maximum size of a trace file to limit how much information is stored.
• Clearing the trace
  Consider clearing the contents of the trace file to save space on your hard drive or to remove unwanted information.
