Creating «Service» and «Request» ports in service model diagrams

«Service» and «Request» are port stereotypes that indicate that the port either provides a service or consumes a service, respectively.

Before you begin

You must have a participant in a service model diagram.

Procedure

  1. In the Project Explorer view, right-click a participant; then click Add Services Modeling and click one of the following items:
    • Service Point
    • Request Point
    • Port
  2. In the window, complete one of the following steps:
    • To create an untyped port, click Unspecified.
    • To create a class as the port's type, click Create Class.
    • To create an interface as the port's type, click Create Interface.
    • To select an existing class or interface as the port's type, click Select Existing Element.
  3. Type a name for the new element.
  4. In the Properties view, you can modify the port to refine its usage.
