Migrating Rose models
About this task
- Importing a Rose model
You can use the Rational Rose Model Import wizard to import Rational Rose models and related artifacts such as property sets into the new UML modeling products. - Selecting a source model and registry file
Select the Rational Rose model you want to import using the Import a Rose Model page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard. You also use this page to specify a new or existing project to hold your model. - Selecting a destination project
You can use the Import a Rose Model page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard to create a new project or reference an existing one for an imported model and related profiles. - Resolving broken references to subunits
You can identify missing subunits and unresolved path map references by using the Resolve Subunits and Path map symbols page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard. If your model contains unresolved path map references, you can provide a new value to resolve the reference. You can also choose to skip over any missing subunits or broken path maps references to import the model in the current state. - Importing Rational Rose subunits as models, root packages, or fragments
You can import subunits from IBM Rational Rose models into the Rational UML modeling products in several ways by specifying import options in the Rational Rose Model Import wizard, on the Rational Rose Model Subunit Conversion page. - Mapping Rose property sets to profiles
You can map Rose model property sets to a new profile, map Rose model property sets an existing profile, or skip the import of specific Rose model property sets using the Map Property Sets page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard. - Mapping Rose stereotypes to profiles
You can map Rational Rose stereotypes (defined in stereotype configuration files) to new or existing profiles using the Map Stereotypes Sets page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard. You can also choose to skip specific Rose stereotypes during the import process if they are not important or used in your model. - Mapping Rational Rose user-defined types to custom model libraries in UML models
When you import a Rational Rose model, you can map user-defined types from the Rational Rose model to a new custom model library, or to existing model libraries, or you can convert user-defined types to primitive or class types. - Specifying Rose model import preferences
You can specify the appearance of the imported model using the Rational Rose Model Import Preferences page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard. - Verifying the Rose import process
After you import your Rational Rose model, it is a good idea to verify your model and diagrams for data integrity.
