Connecting parts and ports in composite structure diagrams

In composite structure diagrams, you can add connectors to parts and ports to link two or more instances and to show the communication between roles in a containing classifier. You can connect two internal parts or ports with an assembly connector, or you can connect a port on the external structure compartment to an internal part or port by using a delegate connector.

Before you begin

You must have a composite structure diagram open that contains compatible parts and ports.

Procedure

  1. In the Palette, click Connector.
  2. In the diagram editor, click an element and drag the cursor to another element to connect them. The type of connector is automatically determined.

Results

Note: Note: To change the type of connector, in the Properties view, on the Advanced page, click Kind, and click a new type of connector.
