Adding triggers to events in BPMN diagrams

You can add a trigger to an event to represent an action that allows the event to occur.

Before you begin

A BPMN diagram that contains at least one event must be open.

In the diagram editor, click an event.
In the Properties view, on the Trigger page, click beside the trigger icon and click a trigger. The trigger is added to the event and the event icon changes to reflect the trigger.

The following figures show a start event and a start event that has a timer trigger.
