Adding signal receptions to classifiers

In your UML model, you can add signal receptions to a classifier to indicate that the classifier is ready to respond to a signal. The signal reception identifies the signal and specifies how the receiving object should respond.

Before you begin

To add a signal reception to a classifier, the signal must already be part of your model.

Procedure

In the diagram editor, drag the signal onto the classifier shape in the diagram.

What to do next

The signal appears in the Signal Reception compartment of the classifier.

Tip: The signals in your model need not appear in the diagram editor. You can also drag a signal from the Project Explorer view onto a classifier shape in the diagram editor.
