Creating extension points for use cases

In UML modeling, you can create extension points for the base use case. These extension points identify where the behavior of an extension use case can be inserted into the base use case.

Procedure

In the diagram editor, right-click a use case; then click Add UML > Extension Point.
Type a name for the extension point and press Enter.

Results

The extension points are listed in the Extension Points compartment of the use case.

Tip: You can also define extension points in the Project Explorer view.
