Troubleshooting the help setup
Refer to the troubleshooting tips and information to help resolve issues that you might
experience while you are configuring the help content.
- Accessing the log information
To troubleshoot issues with the help system, review the information in the log file. - Testing remote help connections
If you are having problems with your remote help content, such as missing content, test the connection to the help server. - Fixing proxy and firewall issues
If you use remote help to access product help content from a web-based help system through a proxy server, you must manually configure the proxy settings. If you are unsure whether you use a proxy server, try to open the help system in an external browser and from your product. If you can open the help system in an external browser but not from your product, configure the proxy settings. - Fixing Java virtual machine (JVM) issues in the help system
In the help system, if you receive errors that are related to the Java™ virtual machine (JVM), such as Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine, you can troubleshoot those issues. - No JAVA_HOME defined error
Some help packages might be built without the required Java JRE. Building packages without the required Java JRE saves on package size and assumes that most systems already have a JRE installed.
